A Fifth Wheel RV is a towable camper. They are attached to a pick-up bed by a hitch: a coupling that has been mounted into the bed of the truck. This makes 5th Wheels more stable and less prone to sway than other towable RVs.

The most memorable feature in Fivers — as they are sometimes called — is the elevated overhanging portion of the camper. This gives Fifth Wheels many advantages over other towables. The split-level design allows for taller ceiling heights and an airy interior space in the lower section, as well as a variety of floorplans based on which elements are placed in the upper area. It can be set up as a private main suite set apart from the living area or used for storage and living space. It can even allow a two-bedroom floorplan to give traveling couples all the privacy they need.
