Class A Motor homes and Diesel Pushers are usually the most luxurious, fully self contained RV available. Most have the appearance of a bus, with a blunt front and a large windshield. Class C Motor home is built on a front engine truck chassis, with the front cab and doors of a van or pickup. Sometimes referred to as "mini motor homes" even though some up to 40 feet, most are between 21 and 32 feet in length. Most include slide outs to increase living space while camping. With gas engines being the most common, a variety of diesel engines are being offered by most RV manufactures.

Fifth-Wheels can be up to 40 feet in the more luxurious and more expensive modes. Most have slide outs to increase the living space while camping and have bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining table and living area. Fifth Wheel RV's require a medium to heavy duty pick up with a special hitch installed in the bed.

Toy Haulers are a relatively new type of RV. It could best be described as a travel trailer with a garage that is used to haul everything from motorcycles, ATV's, to race cars. Some have fold away beds or drop down beds that can be used to turn the garage area into a sleeping area. The rest of the RV is set up like the other motor homes or trailers, with bathrooms, kitchen, dining table and living area and include slide outs to increase the living space while camping.
